Sephardic Jewry originated in the Middle East, North Africa, Spain, and other countries occupied mostly by Arabs. Jews lived in these lands from Babylonian times to the Golden Age of Spain, and then to the year 1948, when the Jews left all the Arab lands. Sepharadim comprise the second largest Jewish community in the world. They have developed, and now possess, a shared relationship that is wonderfully rooted in unique religious traditions, collective ideals, and beautiful customs. Throughout our recent history, Sephardic Hachamim have been counted among the nation of Israel’s greatest leaders, yet little has been written about them in recent literature.

Sephardic Legacy Series has been founded to help serve as the future home of Sephardic publications, networking, and various works geared to all English speaking Sephardic communities across the globe. Sephardic literature, biographies of our Sages, research, history, customs, and vast amounts of Sephardic Torah literature are unknown to a great segment of Sephardic Jewry today. The English speaking population is growing rapidly and their thirst for Torah knowledge is growing likewise. Therefore, baruch Hashem, Sephardic Legacy Series is proud to help English speaking Sephardic communities across North America and the world quench their thirst for Torah and knowledge of their heritage and roots.

This foundation is to preserve Sephardic heritage, and pass on this treasured history to our children for the next generation to come. Our goal is to maintain the authentic works of our revered Sephardic Sages, document their inspirational lives, delve into the history of our Sephardic Jewry and to document all which is essential to our enriched background.
